Message From Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski
"Ending discrimination and injustice against Oregon's gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender citizens has been a deep passion of mine since the beginning of my career in public service. Today I want to thank Basic Rights Oregon and each of you for all that you did to contribute to my reelection and to give me the opportunity to lead our state into a future of equality under the law for everyone who lives and works here. I believe we have before us a historic opportunity to make change in 2007 and you have my word that the legislative session will not end until we have had a fair and open debate on pro-equality legislation in the House and Senate."

Vote for Equality
In just days Oregonians will decide what will be -- for better or for worse -- a defining election for the future of GLBT equality in Oregon for years to come. Never has there been more at stake in local, legislative and statewide candidate races for our movement. That's why Basic Rights Oregon has more than doubled any of our previous efforts to elect pro-GLBT legislators and unseat those who have stood in the way of equality.
See Basic Rights Oregon's endorsements at http://www.voteequality.com/endorsements.asp
Salem Transgender Network urges you to vote in this election. We hope you will consider joining us in voting for candidates who have demonstrated their belief in equality for all Oregonians.
