What's New:

Password Protected Message Board Due to privacy concerns, we have decided to password protect the message board. All members will be issued a username and password. E-mail us if you are a member and don't have your username and password.
Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski has created a Taskforce on Equality created to examine discrimination in the State of Oregon based on sexual orientation and gender identity. The Taskforce will make recommendations of steps necessary to ensure adequate protections for the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender population in Oregon. Governor Kulongoski has been a strong ally for the GLBT community and we applaud the formation of this important Taskforce. Read Executive Order No. 06-03.

Mission Statement: The mission of Salem Transgender Network is to provide a safe and caring network for transgendered individuals. Membership is open to all who self-identify as transgendered or interesexed including male to female or female to male transsexuals, crossdressers and gender variant individuals. Family and friends are also welcome. We're dedicated to improving the quality of life for transgendered people in Salem.

Confidentiality: The Salem Transgender Network is dedicated to the confidentiality of its members. We require discretion and confidentiality of all members.

Membership: Membership is open to the following;

Transgendered Individuals

Male to Female Transsexuals (pre-op, post-op and non-op)

Female to Male Transsexuals (pre-op, post-op and non-op)

Crossdressers

Intersexed

Gender Variant Individuals

Family and close friends of members

Professionals who provide services to the transgender community.

Businesses who welcome transgender patrons

We offer free social opportunities and peer support services on your terms: We recognize that some individuals are questioning or closeted while others are "out" and comfortable in various social settings. If your comfort level is limited to e-mail then you can feel free to contact us for confidential support.

How Do I Learn More? Membership screening assures safety for our members. Please contact us at membership@salemtg.net for membership information. Once approved, we'll add you to our confidential e-mail list and we'll notify you of upcoming activities and events.

Meetings and Activities: We do not have formal meetings scheduled just yet. The Salem Transgender Network is a "work in progress" and we need your input. Please contact us if you can provide a meeting place, would like to host a party or wish to make a presentation to our members.

Cost: We do not charge for membership, nor do we intend to do so in the future.
